Discovery of Typica Longberry variety in Java island dates back to 2010, when Klasik Beans cooperative started mapping out coffee variety on West Java Province. On the foot of a sacred mountain in Northern Bandung, stood 13 heirloom coffee trees among rows of chincona trees. Each of the trees is suspected to had aged to 300 years old. They become an artifact of what formerly a coffee farm from precolonial era. Founding the trees still productive, Klasik Beans team strives to preserve the varietals carried by the old coffee trees: typica. How and when a varietal identical with Ethiopia coffee world came to land in Java, is still a mystery.
On itself, a Java Typica Longberry cup is a blend of sweet and sour melting on your tongue under the guise of cocoa & citrus hints. When it meets the sweetness of milk, this citrus & cocoa pair transforms into velvety layers of milkshake, malty, & almond sensations.
