This lot from the fabulous Yobani Ramos who came 7th in the Tarqui Microlot Competion . Yobani Ramos is a smallholder producer in Tarqui in Central Huila, who is focused on keeping a constantly high quality of her product. Yobani is the wife of Guarnizo who is also a coffee producer. They live together and own separate lots of the same farm, so this is a very strong coffee family in Tarqui, and they are striving for a high and consistent quality, inspiring and pushing each other on.
Tarqui is in the Central Cordillera of the Andes Mountains, with coffee growing in altitudes up to 2000 masl, and with rich and varied micro climates. In the northern part the main harvest is in July-August and the mitaka or mid-harvest is in November-December. In the southern parts this is reversed. This means it is possible to have fresh coffee in from Tarqui all year.
