As young producer, Juan Saldarriaga challenges general belief about Antioquia coffee through experimentations. Antioquia region is known for solid, but maybe slightly boring coffee compared to other Colombian regions.
Taking over his families’ two farmers, Juan Saldarriaga grows different kinds of cultivars in different altitudes. His eagerness eventually pays off. This coffee has more than the regularly chocolaty and heavy-bodied characteristic of an Antioquia coffee. Even though his father, Luis F. Saldarriaga, owns the farm, Juan deserves a name of his own.
